Train Journeys
The Trans-Mongolian route is one of the greatest rail journeys in the world
and after a great deal of research on the web I chose to start my travelling
by taking this route to Beijing. It is 7621 kms from Moscow to Beijing via Mongolia
and takes approx 6 days. I chose to stop off en-route in Irkutsk (Russia) and
Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) which was well worth the extra planning and effort.
Life on the train is wonderful, whether you just relax, read, eat, sleep, walk
up and down the train and meet new people or take photos; there is always something
to keep you occupied.
